The weather cooperated much better this trip to the Kissimmee chain. Roger Weigel took top honors in the15 to18 age division with 12.35lbs of largemouth, followed by Evan Wieber with 9.15lb. Newcomer Keagan McPherson took top honors in the 11 to 14 age division with 6.34lbs, followed by Stanley Flesher with 5.44lbs. Keagans 6.34lbs took Big Bass in younger division. While Tyler Williams' 5.84lb captured big bass in older division.
The Lakeland Junior Bassmasters did not have the explosive sendoff of last year but got off to a good start, just the same, for 2015. Lake Parker does not seem to give up her fish easy and this year was no exception. There was but one limit and a lot of empty bags. In the younger group, newcomer Tristen Raulerson took first and big bass with a winning catch of 3.15 lbs followed by fellow newcomer Kaleb Mesmer with 2.88 lbs. The older group seemed to be able to find a few more bass. Kyle Sheffield came in with a winning total of 10.58 lbs of Bass. Second was Shane Schmucker (with the only limit of the day) 9.64lbs. Jonathan North got big bass for older 5.85lbs of largemouth. In spite of the fishing difficulties, the weighin was a great event particularly with Bobby Lane and his daughers helping in the festivities
Man, what a turn out for the 2014 end year banquet. Once again a packed house of well over 200 showed up in support of our young anglers. I couldn't be more proud of what we have become over past few years. I want to thank all of our anglers, boat captains, tournament staff, sponsors, parents, brothers and sisters for all your support. I can't believe the support that is comming to this organization. With the continued growth of the club I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for the Lakeland Junior Bassmasters. The schedule is out and a new year begins with new goals, dreams and accomplishments from all of our anglers. Good luck to all in this 2015 season, until then enjoy the holidays with family and friends. See everyone Jan3rd, 2015 for the Fun Bike Bash!
